This past weekend, a man from Sioux Falls who had traveled to Las Vegas to pick up a Rolls Royce chose to spend some time at his favorite table at Caesars Palace. It was an intelligent choice.
According to Las Vegas TV station KTNV, Ashwin Patel won a $203,609 jackpot on Friday while playing Mississippi Stud Poker. Through a large progressive jackpot, that is. When he made a royal flush in hearts after playing for about two hours.
The winning hand was dealt at a poker table that the Caesars Rewards member has used for fifteen years.
Patel seems to believe that his streak of good fortune at Caesars Palace will continue. The winnings from this past weekend will be applied to upcoming casino wagers.
Patel disclosed that he and his wife took a trip to Las Vegas from South Dakota to purchase a 2018 Rolls Royce Ghost.
At 11 p.m. on Friday, Caesars Palace witnessed another player win $200,000. Patel had received his payment just an hour earlier.
Video poker was being played by the second participant, who was not named. Also a Caesars Rewards member is that person.
Last Wednesday, a Ventura County man playing poker at Chumash Casino Resort in California with his wife by his side won more than $137,000.
The participant, "Don W.," received a royal flush in a game of four-card poker. He placed a $1 side wager as well.
According to a casino statement cited by California TV station KSBY, the lucky player said, "I opened the hand and did a double-take, and then turned to my wife and said, "Look what I've got!"
"What does it pay, $2,000?" she questioned. Look up there — $137,000, I retorted. She nearly collapsed.
It was precisely $137,921.
The jackpot for the table game was multiple progressive. When a player wins the multi-progressive jackpot, they receive the money that has been accruing from previous players who placed unsuccessful $1 side bets.
Don claims that he will distribute the payout among their eight great-grandchildren and seven grandchildren.
Additionally, Don's wife won a $1K "envy bonus" on a side bet.
Don and his wife also won big at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California, about ten years ago.
It was a complete shock when Don's wife won a $35,000 jackpot ten years ago, he recalled in the casino statement. "We immediately departed and replaced the windows in our home. Then came this. Excellent entertainment for us.
A different Ventura County resident won a record-breaking $1.36 million payout at the Chumash Casino in June.
In May, that same winner struck it rich by winning $556K at the same casino.
